WTRAC is  open Monday  through Friday.  Operating hours are 9-4:30 and we offer additional times by appointment. With advance notice, Saturday and Sunday events are welcome!

Well-known throughout the Mid-South area, Helen Stahl was born and educated in Memphis . She attended the Memphis Academy of Arts, received a BA from Memphis State University , and a Masters in Art from the University of Mississippi .

Helen's career has included commercial art, consultant to advertising agencies, and teaching art in the Memphis City Schools with many former students becoming well-known artists in the Mid-South area.

She is a member of various professional watercolor societies and has received numerous national, regional and local awards.

Helen's watercolors depict a wide range of subject matter. She particularly enjoys the timeless places and rustic faces of a slowly fading Southern era, Civil War events, local landmarks and everyday “happenings” that have universal appeal.

The Downstairs Gallery is always free of charge to visitors to the West Tennessee Regional Art Center, the Greater Humboldt Chamber of Commerce and the Strawberry Festival/Historical Museum.
